It was the best way I could think of to up the veggie factor while getting rid of the weird, canned cheese soup. It’s a Mexican take on Josh’s old favorite. My long history with tots aside, this is GOOD. And we may have written “Tina, come get some ham” in ketchup on the foil we presented on, ha. In a bowl whisk together eggs, milk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper and set aside. But we were told we had the most unique display and got full points for creativity □ Oh. Needless to say, how weird I am didn’t win me any friends. We had to coat them in varnish so they wouldn’t fall apart by class the next day, and it pretty much put me off on tater tots for years. He went along with it, but frozen tater tots do not really hold up well to being held together by toothpicks in a pentagonal bipyramidal configuration. Spread evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Ever since I met him in 2008, he has been going on and on about something called tater tot casserole. In a frying pan sauté the onion in the oil until soft and starting to caramelize. While tater tots are baking prepare remaining ingredients. Recipe reviewer hpedwards used the broiler at the end to toast the tots and brown the cheese a bit. Not every Tater Tot Casserole recipe contains vegetables but I like the convenience of an all-in-one dinner dish. ![]() This Tater Tot Casserole does have at least one redeeming nutritional quality, because it does contain vegetables. Spread veggie mixture in a baking sheet, then top with cheese and frozen tater tots. ![]() Use homemade condensed cream of mushroom soup for the BEST RESULTS Combine the veggies with the condensed cream of mushroom soup. (I know some of you are gagging at that thought.) Vegetarian Tater Tot Hotdish - Fork in the Kitchen Saute the vegetables together, then mix in fresh parsley. I like mushroom soup and can eat it cold from the can if necessary. If you don't like mushroom soup use your favourite cream soup. The combination of sour cream and mushroom soup makes a tangy gravy-like sauce that complements the remaining ingredients well. The sauce for Tater Tot Casserole is made from condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk and sour cream. Not a gourmet dish, it is full of convenience and processed foods, but it tastes great and makes a large dish for those gatherings. Tater Tot Casserole is one of those dishes that just about everyone likes and is quickly put together to serve at a family gathering or bring to a potluck. ![]()
